The A-level version of this course involves the study of linguistics and English literature. Students will learn how to analyse a range of English language texts; they will produce their own creative and evaluative writing in response to set briefs.
The two-year A Level course is comprised of five elements in the A Level course, assessed over two written exams and one independent project: 1. Remembered Places 2. Imagined Worlds 3. Poetic Voices 4. Writing about Society 5. Critical Commentary 6. Dramatic Encounters 7. Making Connections. You will be examined at the end of the first year, anyone leaving the course at that point will get an AS Level qualification.
To achieve the full A Level you will need to take all of the assessed units together at the end of the second year of the course, including topics taken in Year 12.
