Textiles A LEVEL Course

Textiles A LEVEL Course. Duration: 2 Years

Course Content

AS: On this course, you will explore a range of Textile techniques using a variety of skills. An annotated developmental sketchbook is a critical part of this course. Through the investigation into the work of Artists and Fashion Designers, you will develop your own individual approach, which will lead to making a final textile piece or pieces. You will create one coursework project and a practical exam project project. Your exam project will be to make a Textile item/s in the Textiles room over ten hours.
A2: The second year of the A Level course is a natural progression from AS. It is a detailed body of coursework that continues to link the work of Textiles Artists/ designers to your own work. You will develop a range of skills and techniques through your individual creativity. A personal investigation will allow you to do an in depth study / investigation (1000 to 3000 words). The final exam consists of preparation work and a final piece or pieces created in fifteen hours in the textile rooms.
This course is one of the newly reformed A Levels.
