A Level Examinations
Component 1: Choreography and Performance
You will be assessed in the performance of a quartet and a solo inspired by a practitioner. These will be created by you and your teacher. You will choreograph a group dance that responds to an exam board set stimulus. This practical exam is worth 50% of the A Level course.
Component 2: Critical Engagement
This is a theoretical element worth 50% of the A Level course in which you will sit a two and a half hour exam. You will answer short essay style questions based on the set work Rooster by Christopher Bruce. You will also have to write two essay questions on another set work of your teacher’s choice from your areas of study.
