5 GCSE grades or equivalent at grade 4 or above, including English.
This course enables learners to study for two A-levels equivalent in Health and Social Care. The course focuses on the health, social care and early year’s sector. It requires learners in the first year to sit two written exams and complete two pieces of coursework. If you decide to continue this course into the second year, you will complete a further one exam and three pieces of coursework. This course will take up two option blocks.
Learners will have the opportunity to complete work experience in a range of settings; previous placements include day care centres, residential homes, hospices and schools. You will cover a wide range of health and social care topics which will include human lifespan development, theorists and their work on human development, working in health and social care, anatomy and physiology, meeting individual support needs, promoting public health and many more.
In 2018, 93% of students went to their first or second choice university.
