5 GCSE grades or equivalent at grade 4 or above, including English.
This course focuses on the health, social care and early year’s sector. It requires learners in the first year to sit one written exam and complete one piece of coursework. If you decide to continue this course into the second year, you will complete a further exam and one piece of coursework.
You will cover a wide range of health and social care topics which will include human lifespan development, theorists and their work on human development, working in health and social care, anatomy and physiology, meeting individual support needs, promoting public health and many more.

This course is equivalent to one A Level after two years of study or an AS after one. You will gain UCAS points to allow you to apply to university. This qualification is designed for progression to higher education; learners can study a number of health and social care degrees such as nursing, midwifery, social work and health studies. It is also relevant to those who wish to seek employment or study an apprenticeship.
