Successful attendance and completion of all GCSE level exams and courses.

Course Content

This one year BTEC course consists of four units.

Unit 1 you will learn about the Travel and Tourism sector. This is an examined unit to be sat in January. The remaining 3 units are internally assessed through coursework.

Unit 2 investigates Travel and Tourism destinations. It will enable you to identify and locate tourist destinations and major UK airports and seaports. You will also understand how different customers have different needs and how the Travel and Tourism industry can meet these.

Unit 3 you will study the Travel and Tourism Customer Experience, investigating the different types of customer and the varying needs they have. You will also learn about the significance of excellent customer service and how Travel and Tourism organisations ensure that they excel in this area.

Final unit, you will study beyond the UK to international destinations. You will consider how these destinations appeal to different types of visitor and will plan a holiday to an international destination in response to a customer’s needs. In Unit 2 you will learn about sales, marketing and technology in the leisure and tourism industry.
